The first step to getting customers is having a great brand and product, the second is letting them know where to find you online and offline.
Search Engine Optimisation is often known as the ‘dark art’ of digital marketing and can put business owners off trying to get their business noticed online. However, there are some very simple, free and important steps you can action to make it easy for customers to find your business online.
Add your business to Google
Using Google My Business, create your free business listing and you’ll appear in search results when people are searching for your business or businesses like yours on Google Search and Maps. It’s really easy to create and update your listing with your logo, opening hours and address details.
Once you’ve filled in your details you’ll be sent a postcard to your business address within 10 days with a special code and link on – you’ll need to enter this to verify your listing.
If you want to improve the visibility of your business online further, check out Moz Local which shows you how your business is listed on online directories. It is important that the information you enter is exactly the same for each directory so search engines can find your location information and deliver new customers.
